(1) matte photos, polaroid style from Australian origrami - the photo you see by the way is this awesome architecture in Melbourne - triangles, triangles, triangles (2) crystals from a flea market in Munich, I want to make necklaces with them (3) the last straggler seedlings, growing in my room. I grew and planted a variety, everything from tomatoes to zucchini to herbs (4) my first record - and a wonderful reminder of my time in Portland last year - Fever Ray, y'all (5) tea cups, also from the flea market. For years I've had ones just like that from my mom, just varying in design, now I got to add to my collection. And I can serve more people tea, haha (6) discovered I still had this Tarot set. Just for fun I'm going to try it out (7) 'The flavour Thesaurus', a beautiful hardbound book with loads of pairing suggestions to different foods. A great help and inspiration if when your cooking and baking (8) the fabric that serves as part of the background is actually a dress my Mama made - I want to change the sleeves though, then I'm going to wear it all the time!

Juices.
I just noticed that last month's recipes were pretty healthy for the most part.
I had some chocolate muffins with avocado, healthy cookies, chia seed pudding…
now I'm starting this month with more health, nutrition and goodies for your well-being:
juices!
now I'm starting this month with more health, nutrition and goodies for your well-being:
juices!
I got myself a juicer a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been experimenting.
These aren't exact recipes, just guides on what you can put into a yummy drink.
And since I'm a sucker for color schemes, the fruit and veggies match in hue.
Seriously, there's nothing like a freshly pressed juice - if you can you should give it a try!

I use a Philips HR1870/10 Avance Juicer
Red Juice
red pepper
pink lady apple(s)
rhubarb
strawberries
Orange Juice
carrots
orange / mandarine
cantaloupe
pineapple
lemon
ginger
Green Juice
cucumber
spinach
celery
granny smith apple
lime
mint
The same for all recipes: don´t throw anything into your juicer you wouldn't eat yourself - so stuff like the rind of citrus fruits, melons or cores and seeds from apples.
It takes care of your blade with hardly any extra effort!

Karotten
Orange / Mandarine
Cantaloupe Melone
Ananas
Zitrone
Ingwer

Gurke
Spinat
Staudensellerie
Granny Smith Apfel
Limette
Minze

Chia Seed Pudding.
This is one of my favorite snacks.
Chia seeds are proclaimed as a power food, they´re tiny black seeds that gel up when soaked in liquid.
Compared to making a tapioca pudding this is way more healthy (not all the starch!).
And SO easy.
Whip it up the night before you plan on eating it, it also keeps for a couple of days in the fridge.
Eat it cold, it it hot, use dairy, go vegan.
I spiced mine up with vanilla, honey and garnished it with fresh passionfruit, coconut chips and pistachios.
Nomnomnom.
...
Chia Seed Pudding
time 10 minutes preparation, overnight chilling, 5 minutes finishing
yields two snacking bowls
250ml milk (dairy or non-dairy, e.g. almond milk)
22g chia seeds
empty, scraped vanilla bean
25g sugar (great alternatives: honey, maple syrup, brown rice syrup)
Mix milk and chia seeds with a whisk.
Add the vanilla bean and sugar.
Wait for a couple of minutes, give it another good stir, then fill into an airtight container and let stand overnight in the fridge.
Serve cold or warmed up on the stovetop or in the microwave.
Garnish with whatever you fancy.
…
Nomnomnom.

Chia Saat Pudding

25g Zucker (tolle Alternativen: Honig, Ahornsirup, brauner Reissirup)

Gardening.
My Mama's always been in to gardening, and still is.
As a kid I found it fun to dig around for potatoes or eat a plum directly off a tree, actually getting down and dirty didn't appeal to me though, especially in my teen years.
This all changed when I lived in Portland though.
Before that, I also had a small herb garden, but never thought I could grow my own produce.
In Portland, everyone and their dog (or goat, or chicken) seemed to have a garden.
Tomatoes, squash, berries, loads of different fruit trees.
I loved it.
So when I moved to Munich and got to live in a house with a garden I started toying with the idea to plant and cultivate my own veggies, fruits and herbs.
We actually have already got two plum trees, an apple tree and loads of blackberries.
My additions will include kale, rocket, sweet potatoes, red currants, rhubarb and a whole long list of other veggies and especially herbs.
I'll keep you guys updated with the progress of this project.
I can't wait to bake with my own garden's offering: how does blackberry pie, apple crumble, rhubarb meringue, tomato tart, kale salad and and and… sound?
…
